02.01

This picture is taken from the side of the church into the place´. The space is well delineated by the surrounding buildings. There are three streets that pass through the space and one that ends at the place´. The streets also help define the space. The square is a large open space that serves as a connection between the church and the other buildings. From the view you have a good view of two of the buildings that create an almost sharp corner for the square. You can see down the other side past the bounds of the square into more of the city.

This essay is 104 words, 96 shy of the 200 needed for this essay.

You need to explain, "where in the plan is the view located." Which figure ground fits this image the best? I think it is the second one. Roll with this one. Analyze. Analyze. Analyze!

You need to use the figure grounds included to explain the spatial condition of the image you posted. There are four streets coming into the place. Two carry through, one is broken up by the mass of the surrounding buildings, and the other is cut of by the monastery. How do the buildings help to form the place and define the space? The placement of the church is important, why?

Please re-read the assignment and take these comments into consideration when writing this again. Please resubmit. Thank you.
